Artist Retreat in Santa Fe

Step into the magic of Santa Fe, where desert light, rich culture, and a world-class art scene create the perfect setting for inspiration. This retreat, led by Dallas artist Danielle Kimzey, is more than just time away—it’s an immersive journey into creativity, exploration, and connection.

Together, we’ll spend a day at the legendary Ghost Ranch, the dramatic landscape that fueled Georgia O’Keeffe’s iconic work. We’ll stroll down Canyon Road, taking in galleries that showcase Santa Fe’s vibrant artistic community, and visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum to deepen our understanding of her life and vision. In the studio, we’ll dive into a full-day workshop with acclaimed artist Ron Pokrasso, whose guidance and techniques will open new possibilities in your creative practice.

Throughout it all, you’ll have the space to reflect, create, and grow while surrounded by fellow artists in one of the most inspiring destinations in the world. Whether you’re looking to expand your artistic voice or simply reconnect with your creativity, this Santa Fe art retreat offers the perfect balance of learning, exploration, and adventure.

Join us—and let the landscapes, stories, and colors of New Mexico breathe new life into your art.

Lodging at La Fonda on the Plaza

Your stay will be at La Fonda on the Plaza, Santa Fe’s landmark hotel located in the heart of the historic plaza. Blending Southwestern charm with timeless elegance, La Fonda features hand-painted furnishings, original artwork, and traditional adobe architecture. Guests enjoy luxurious accommodations just steps away from Santa Fe’s galleries, shops, and cultural landmarks. With its rich history and inviting atmosphere, La Fonda provides the perfect backdrop for creativity, relaxation, and connection during our retreat.

Instructor Danielle Kimzey

Danielle Kimzey, with her MFA in Painting from the University of Iowa and a recipient of the Mildred Lynch Pelzer Fellowship, enriches the retreat in a remote support role with her international acclaim as an artist. Represented by Galleri Urbane in Dallas, her work has graced galleries from New York to Paris, reflecting her vibrant and explorative approach to art. Danielle's experiences as a bicycle and Segway tour guide in Nice and Paris, coupled with her extensive teaching background—from art appreciation and painting at Dallas College to design at Texas Christian University—offer retreat attendees an inspiring glimpse into the fusion of art, culture, and education. Her dedication to art and teaching and her work appearing in prestigious publications and projects, including architecting a 30-foot-tall Living Wall installation in West Palm Beach, showcases the profound impact art can have on community spaces and individual lives.
