Let Paris Tell Your Story: A Moth-Inspired Storytelling Workshop for Writers

Let Paris Tell Your Story: A Moth-Inspired Storytelling Workshop for Writers

For writers, few experiences spark the creative flame quite like traveling to a place steeped in art and culture. This July 2025, you’re invited to immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind storytelling journey that blends the rich literary legacy of Paris with the transformative art of Moth-inspired storytelling.

Picture yourself in Paris this summer with fellow writers and two master storytellers to unearth the story only you can tell.

Awaken Your Narrative Voice Under Expert Guidance

At the heart of this workshop are instructors Adam Wade and Carla Katz—both Moth StorySLAM champions known for their heartfelt, human-centered narratives.

Adam’s stories, which have been spotlighted in The New Yorker and The Moth Radio Hour, bring humor, vulnerability, and deeply personal touches that resonate with any audience. Carla’s mastery of narrative structure and character-building will help you bring richness and depth to your storytelling.

Together, they’ll lead you through interactive exercises, provide one-on-one feedback, and show you how to peel back the layers of your own experiences to find the universal truth within your personal tale.

A Landscape of Literary Inspiration

It’s hard to overstate how much setting can influence your work. The Latin Quarter’s cobblestone lanes whisper stories of the past. The gardens and boulevards open windows into hidden memories. The architecture of centuries-old buildings mirrors the intricate patterns we weave into our narratives. As you explore Paris, each step can spark a new idea: a chance conversation in a café, a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower at dusk, the laughter of friends meeting by the river’s edge. Your senses will be on high alert, your mind alive with possibility.

Workshops That Build Confidence and Craft

Over four intensive days (July 1-6, 2025), you’ll dive into the very roots of storytelling craft. You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify and cultivate authentic voice, tone, and pacing.
  • Draw humor and emotional resonance out of ordinary moments.
  • Build narrative structure that guides an audience along a memorable journey.
  • Bolster your performance skills, building the confidence to stand before an audience and hold them spellbound.

Our workshop days are designed to give you space to write, reflect, and grow in a supportive community. With just ten participants per workshop, you’ll receive personal attention from Adam and Carla. Afternoons and evenings offer the chance to wander the city, join group outings like a night bike tour or a guided stroll through the Latin Quarter, and ultimately share your story live at La Pomme D’Eve—an unforgettable opportunity to bring your words from page to stage.

A Home in the Heart of Paris

Your base will be the Hôtel Trianon Rive Gauche, a 4-star haven that places you steps away from Luxembourg Gardens and the creative heartbeat of the city. From morning workshops to evenings exploring Paris’ storied neighborhoods, you’ll return each night to a comfortable retreat perfectly situated for both rest and inspiration.

Who Should Apply?

This Moth-inspired workshop is open to all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned author fine-tuning your storytelling prowess or a newcomer exploring a new creative path, you’ll find guidance, camaraderie, and a warm welcome. This isn’t about being polished or perfect—it’s about discovering your own truth and learning how to shape it into a narrative that resonates with others.
